Why are your ice creams more expensive than what I can buy at other ice cream shops and grocery stores?
There are many reasons. To start, we do not add any unnecessary fillers or stabilizers and we do not whip excessive amounts of air into our ice creams. This creates a more dense, creamy & flavorful custard style ice cream . Our dairy flavors start with Straus Organic Heavy Cream and Milk, plus Organic Eggs and Organic Cane Sugar and Sea Salt. And our Non-Dairy flavors start with An Allergen Free and Vegan certified base made with Coconut Cream, Cane Sugar, Tapioca Syrup, Locust Bean Gum, & Sea Salt. We use real fruit, make our own compotes, curds and sauces whenever possible. And all of our ice creams are expertly crafted and balanced by Chef Joshua Fisher who is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America.
Do you offer any Gluten-Free Options?
Yes, but we are NOT a certified gluten free or nut free facility. All of our Non-Dairy flavors are Gluten-free. A few of our Dairy flavors have gluten such as Hank the Tank Tracks. When in doubt please ask when ordering.
How do we get your ice cream at our special event/celebration?
We have a few options, our Charming Red Ice Cream Trailer is great for larger events. For smaller events and celebrations we recommend our mini chest freezer filled with pre-packaged single scoops. We also have ice cream cakes and pints.
Where did the name Castle Rock Creamery come from?
It’s named after one of our favorite hikes in Stateline, NV. The views from the top are breathtaking and it reminds us just how special it is to live in Tahoe! And that the Tahoe community and its visitors deserve exceptional ice cream
